When a web browser exhibits strange behavior, it is often due to stored settings in the browser cache (or history). The steps below describe the process of clearing the browser cache in common browsers.
Windows
Google Chrome
- In the upper right corner of the window, click on the icon and select More Tools
- Then select Clear browsing data.
- On the Clear browser data dialog box:
- Select All time in the Time range drop-down list box.
- Select the Browser history, Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files check boxes.
- Click on the Clear data button.
- Close Chrome and then relaunch.
Mozilla Firefox
- In the upper right corner of the window, click on the icon and select Options.
- Select Privacy & Security on the left.
- Scroll down to Cookies and Site Data and click Clear Data.
- Ensure both boxes are checked and click Clear.
- A confirmation box will pop up. Select Clear Now.
- Close Firefox and then relaunch.
Microsoft Edge
- In the upper right corner of the window, click on the icon and select History.
- Click Clear History.
- Ensure Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files are selected.
- Click Clear.
- Close Edge and then relaunch.
Mac
Google Chrome
- In the upper right corner of the window, click on the icon and select More Tools >
- Select Clear browsing data.
- On the Clear browser data dialog box:

- Select Privacy & Security on the left.
- Scroll down to Cookies and Site Data and click Clear Data.
- Ensure both boxes are checked and click Clear.
- A confirmation box will pop up. Select Clear Now.
- Close Firefox and then relaunch.
Safari
- Select History > Clear History... from the menu at the top of your screen.
- Next to Clear, select all history.
- Click Clear History.
- Close Safari and then relaunch.
