Graduation Data

The New York State Education Department's Office of Information and Reporting Services (IRS) collects and reports graduation data for approximately 200,000 students in over 700 public school districts and over 200 charter schools every year. These data are reported by cohort (the year in which these students first entered grade 9). Total cohort graduation rate is calculated for 4-year June, 4-year August, 5-year and 6-year cohorts.
