Certificates No Longer Available for Issuance

• School Administrator and Supervisor - Provisional Certificate
  Validity: Valid for five years
  
  
• Classroom Teacher - Permanent Certificate
  Valid for life, unless revoked or suspended for cause by the New York State Education Department
  
  
• Classroom Teacher - Provisional Certificate
  Validity: Valid for five years
  
  
• Classroom Teacher - Transitional E Certificate
  Validity: Valid for three years
  
  
• Teaching Assistant - Continuing Certificate
  Validity: the certificate is valid continuously, except when the holder has not been regularly employed as a teaching assistant in the public schools of New York for a period of five consecutive years, in which case the validity of the certificate shall lapse.
